:: January 11, 2002 - Lunch with Paul aka Jr Egghead ::

I got an email from the monkey I linked to yesterday! Monkey asked me about the article in yesterday's Vancouver Sun mentioning his website. I scanned it and sent it this morning. Maybe U can convince monkey to come to lunch.

Paul and I went went out for Italian at Buon Appetito on Burrard today. Yum! See pics below!

Don't for get to subscribe to the Lunch Mail List to get daily updates.

Paul. This is what a rabid Toronto Maple Leafs fan looks like. Horrible isn't it. If you encounter this beast in the wilds of Vancouver run to the nearest community policing station screaming "The Leafs Suck!" at the top of your lungs. Perhaps you need to look into some pepper spray for future encounters.

A guy at the restaurant. He has no idea he had his picture taken. I wonder what was in the paper?

My lunch. A sausage Calzoné, garden salad and a Diet Coke with Lemon. Which still doesn't taste very good. Speaking of bad taste.

Paul's Lunch. He had the same as me, but had water instead of pop. Here he's being cheeky by dissecting his Calzoné. I'm sure he was intending something a little less savoury, but for tastes sake we'll call it that.

Lunch doesn't look good today? I could be eating bugs like the guy below (or not).

There's hope for the world yet. Nice guys don't finish last after all. Ethan Zohn, a pro soccer player, is the winner of Survivor Africa. Apparently, with his million dollars, he's going to buy a new rug and vacuum cleaner for he and his two roommates in their Mahattan apartment. That must be quite the vacuum.
Although the program is not as widely popular as it was two years ago I still liked it. I thought that Lex, the drummer of the band LuckyDog, was going to flip out when he lost, but he took it in stride. Just when you write someone off they redeem themselves.
