:: February 13, 2002 - Skating Scandal Update Lunch ::

Looks like the ISU is launching an inquiry into the events surrounding the Canadians, Salé and Pelletier being pickpocketed of their gold medal by corrupt judging. It has come to light that the French judge's vote was procured by the Eastern Bloc judges in return for the promise of a French Gold Medal in the Dance figure skating competition later in the Olympics. If this is true it means the results of the Pairs Competetion were known even before the skaters took the ice on Moday night. Dirty dealings if you ask me. I think a flogging is in order.

Tuna sandwich. I'd love to head back east and go deep sea fishing for tuna one day.

Tropical Tie-Dye Fruit Roll-up. I still want to go on a vacation, but the Canadian dollar isn't doing so well.

Field Berry Fat Free yogurt. Eating berries puts me in the anthropological frame of mind. Hunters and gatherers would be after berries as part of their diet. I bet the !Kung Bushmen in Africa pick and eat berries as they're clicking away.

Minute Maid 100% Pure Orange Juice. We used to calll it O.J. but that's a lot less cool now.

The Boston Bruins handed hometown Vancouver Canucks their arses 2 to 1 in overtime. Both goals were scored by Glen Murray, a guy I went to high school and played summer soccer with in Bridgewater. Great going Glen (seen above giving a friendly head-butt to goaltender Byron Dafoe)! I used to cheer for the Bruins when I lived in Nova Scotia and have always had a soft spot for them (ever since Bobby Orr). It'd be nice to see Boston go all the way this year (Sorry Canucks fans). They are in 1st place.
