:: February 25, 2002 - Double Gold Hockey Lunch ::

Thanks partially to a loonie (a canadian dollar coin) buried at center ice and a huge amount of talent, Canadians walked away with two Olympic gold medals in hockey. Both the men and the women won. Both teams beat our great friends and friendly rivals the USA in the finals.

Don't forget, if you scan you lunch you can email it to lunch@mikebrowne.com and we'll do lunch!

The Canadian women celebrated their victory first.

The Canadian men won 5 to 2 breaking a 50 year gold medal drought. To us Canadians it's like winning the Fifa World Cup, The NFL SuperBowl and the MLB's World Series all at once. The whole country is celebrating today! Joe Sakic, from Burnaby BC now playing for the Colorado Avalanche, was named tournament MVP. Way to go Joe!

Our friend Leslie and her dad Ernie (not of ...and Bert fame) went to Mexico recently. She took pictures of her buffet lunch. She said that all the Mexican people were pronouncing the T at the end of buffet. Like Jimmy?

The lunch that Leslie had was fettuccini pomodoro (isn't that Italian?) with mussels and of course real taco chips with guacamole and salsa. Ernie had a bunch of different crap from the buffet (her words not mine). She drank this stuff that kind of looks like sprite but with a lemon flavour, they call it Crystal Limon.

For dessert Leslie had fruit and Ernie had crème carmel and coconut pudding. She didn't mention anything about Montezuma's Revenge although any time I travel I am stricken.
