:: February 27, 2002 - Junk Food Lunch ::

Yes I went to 7-11 again! This may change really soon however. Carol and I have decided to get our groceries delivered by Small Potatoes - Urban Delivery (If you don't live in BC just use our Postal Code V2X 8G2 to enter the site). You can order inexpensively online and have your food delivered to your door! There's also Quick.com. I see their green trucks all over the place.

Don't forget, if you scan you lunch you can email it to lunch@mikebrowne.com and we'll do lunch!

Don't forget to subscribe to the Lunch Mail List to get daily updates.

Big Pizza Sub - with pepperoni, salami and mozarella. It is very tall like a skyscraper. Like the CN Tower (which oddly enough I have never been in). I guess I would have to go to Toronto to do that. I've been in the Toronto Airport - that's enough for me. What a zoo!

Pringles - Cheese and Onion Potato Chips. My grandmother, Ruby, Used to give my sister and I Pringles chips when we were kids. Ruby lived through the Halifax Explosion. Which was the largest man made explosion until Hiroshima was almost vaporized by an Atomic Bomb during World War II.

Pop Tarts - Cherry and Cream Cheese Danish. I wonder if it's really from Denmark? Like Hamlet (I love Shakespeare). Carol has been there. I'll ask her.

Starbucks Coffee - Vanilla Frappuccino. I used to work with John Murchie (of Murchie's Teas). He told me about knowing the guys who started Starbucks and where the logo and name came from. Apparently, Star was a secretary in their offices who did something that rhymes with buck. Is the mermaid in the logo holding her tail in the air or could it be...legs? hmmmmm.

A woman from Timmins, Ontario wins the Ice Sculpture competition at the Winter Carnival every year (Thanks for the picture Pilar). This year's entry pays homage to the FDNY firefighters who died trying to save others on September 11, 2001 at the WTC. There's even a web camera constantly watching Ground Zero now.
